I Love Vikki Vi - A Message from our CEO

Over the 25 years that I've had the pleasure of selling Vikki Vi Clothing, I have spoken to countless women about their love of Vikki Vi. There is magic around this product. Whether it's in the fabric, the fit, or the way it makes you feel - Vikki Vi has a massive following. I can't tell you the many conversations I've had with women who tell me they own over 100 pieces of Vikki Vi and still love and wear each one. I love having these conversations with my customers because Vikki Vi has brought magic to my life as well.
It all started back in the 90's when Nordstrom created the Encore department. I was a women's clothing manager and had the opportunity to take on the responsibility of Encore. Soon after we received our first collection in black, the craze began. The wonder and excitement created around this special product was amazing. I communicated to the buyers how much the customers loved this product and encouraged them to carry it all the time. The love affair had begun and is still going strong today.
I had a vision way back then that Vikki Vi would be an important part of my life. I couldn't imagine how at that time, but I just knew. When my second child Juliet was born in 2001, I felt that I couldn't go back to the corporate world to work for Nordstrom again. I took the opportunity with the dawning of ECommerce to start a small website called Plus by Design. I started my business with $5000 in inventory in six colors of slinky that I housed in our garage. I worked from home and was able to care for my new baby. I did everything in the beginning from taking customer calls on my cell phone to chasing the UPS guy around town every afternoon. The growth of the business was immediate.
In 2007, we were lucky enough to acquire the Vikki Vi label. Today we are supplying Vikki Vi to Nordstrom online with Black Classics and Plus by Design is still growing.
I am always so grateful to the amazing support of all my Vikki Vi fans. The love you show toward this amazing product has kept it going through many ups and downs. I also have an amazing staff. Allegra is our buyer/photographer/model and has been with us for over 10 years. Leslie handles customer service and logistics. Lydia is our beautiful model and the face of Vikki Vi for many years. Our newest model is Danielle Line. Make-up lovingly and beautifully done by Melanie Cristescu. Our product is made in New York City with Roger handling the manufacturing and Burt supplying our high quality slinky fabric. Our fabulous blogger is the talented Jen Anderson. I am so blessed to work with these outstanding individuals and own this amazing company.

Many years ago I used to buy VickyV at a favorite boutique. This year I received a email about your company and I bought sis straight skirts and eight 3/4 length pull over tops. I have never felt so well dressed and comfortable in my clothes. Thank you , thank you, thank you. Leah Gluck
I can’t tell you how elated I am to have found your website. I started wearing Vikki Vi in 2007 when it first came on the scene at Nordstrom. I didn’t know if I would like it and then fell in-love with it. I have worn the clothing in all sizes, including the brand for smaller Women’s sizes. My pieces do need refreshing badly. I thought Vikki Vi was gone forever. In December or January I did find that Nordstrom was carrying the black, but they did not carry the 0X size. So – I went to the internet and found Plus by Design. I have purchased several pieces since then (it has to be addictive). I do get a lot of compliments from friends who ask why I am so dressed up. I have answered that they don’t realize how comfortable, easy it is to wear, always looks nice, hardly any care, the only way to travel. I am retired now and have tossed a lot of my work clothes. But it is hard to find anything comfortable and good looking. Vikki Vi clothing is like wearing pajamas. Retirement is all about comfortable. I can’t commend you enough for the product, rich colors, feel of material, and customer service —down to how fast it arrives in the mail. I will be a “forever” customer.
I bought my fist Vikki Vi at Nordstrom’s and it has been a love affair ever since. These outfits have been all over the world with me as I travel for business and never go out of style, I am a senior executive and always receive compliments on my clothing. I have all the original jackets from the beginning and still wear them. I especially love the slim pants since I have thin legs and they are very flattering. My only wish is that the sleeveless shell tunic be made available in every color not just the black. The tunic is just the right length to hide the belly. May you enjoy many more years of success.
I have been your customer since almost the first day you became an eCommerce store. I purchased my first piece at Nordstrom and was elated when I found Vikki Vi online. Danielle is great to do business with and has great customer service. She even came to her store on Ventura Blvd., right after she moved in and didn’t have regular hours, since I was driving through the area, to allow me to peruse the inventory. I love everything about Vikki Vi. The quality, style and ability to wear it everyday for all occasions. To be able to transition from day to night simply by adding accessories is fantastic. The basic black pants and shell tops has literally been my basic uniform whether for business, casual and evening ware, everyday.
