The right skirt just makes life so much easier.

No, really. A polished elastic waist keeps you comfortable so that you don't spend all day distracted by it. Maxi length makes it always appropriate. A back slit lets you stride confidently through the day.

This skirt won't get lost in the back of your closet.

It's just right for apple shaped women who want a modest skirt that doesn't skimp on style.

" The black classic maxi skirt is appropriate for absolutely anything! I have worn it to weddings- parties- work- and while working long hours on projects over the years. One of my favorite looks is pairing it with the classic black tank top and any scarf, cardigan or jacket I pull out of the closet. You will feel as dressy or as casual as the occasion calls for and feel comfortable and easy through it all." – satisfied customer Kristine

  • Straight skirt hangs from the elastic waistband to the ankles.

This skirt is as comfortable as it is stylish.

It's made from a heavy finely ribbed stretch knit fabric that drapes over your hips, never clinging or pulling.

Remember that not every style is designed with your body shape in mind. For example if you're pear-shaped, a dress with straight sides will either be too tight across your hips or too loose across the bust. In that case, A-Line shaped styles will fit your more comfortably.

If you're unsure which size to order, please contact us and we can advise you. Brands that aren't Vikki Vi follow a different size chart (available on the product page), and we're happy to pop into the warehouse and measure a garment for you if necessary.

Our blog includes numerous plus size shopping tips and plus size style tips that can help you select garments that you'll love.

      How to Measure Your Body

Relax and remind yourself that your measurements are neutral bits of information. We know that this can be an emotional experience, but it doesn't have to be. You're just gathering data.

Waist - Let's start with this one because it's easiest. Wrap the measuring tape around your waist and come on, baby do the twist. That twisting motion moves the measuring tape to your natural waist.

Bust - Wiggle the measuring tape up so that the back is a few inches above your bra band. You want to measure the largest part of your bust and since you want the measuring tape to be parallel to the floor, wiggle it around until it is.

Hips - You need to measure the biggest part of your hips - the hard part is figuring out where that is. Every booty is unique, so you may need to measure several spots to find the biggest one. It's probably lower down than you expect.

Inseam - You may find it easiest to measure a favorite pair of pants to find your inseam measurement. Lay the pants on a flat surface and measure from the crotch to the ankle.

      Fabric/Care

Vikki Vi Black Classics are made in the USA from the highest quality acetate/spandex fabric available. Weighing nearly 1 pound per yard, our classic fabric drapes beautifully and lasts a lifetime. Our black fabric is made from a yarn-dye process which ensures your blacks match from season to season.

Machine wash these beautiful styles in cold water. You can tumble with no heat to rid the garments of excess water if desired and then lay flat to dry completely. Acetate/lycra fabric will tend to stretch over time, take care in hanging or store folded.

The best looking and most useful skirt I own!

The black classic maxi skirt is appropriate for absolutely anything! I have worn it to weddings- parties- work- and while working long hours on projects over the years. One of my favorite looks is pairing it with the classic black tank top and any scarf, cardigan or jacket I pull out of the closet. You will feel as dressy or as casual as the occasion calls for and feel comfortable and easy through it all. My go to travel wardrobe is this skirt with the tank and slim leg pants with a bias cut tunic. I am set for a few days with changing my jewelry and scarves and putting it together is totally stress free.

      Hi Kristine,

Thanks for writing a review. Enjoy!!

      Classic black straight maxi skirt.

I just replaced this skirt because my old one, while still wearable, must have been about 20 years old! This is a staple in my wardrobe which I can’t do without. It is my basic goes-with-everything skirt, always comfortable and wrinkle-free, guaranteed to present a nice appearance. Nobody should be without one!

      Hi Ginny,

Thanks so much for the great review. Enjoy!
