Think of this as the pencil skirt's longer, more relaxed cousin.

Six gore panels give this skirt a feminine shape that accentuates your curves without clinging to them. It flares out just a bit at the bottom for a little extra zazz.

This skirt is almost too much fun to be a classic.

Obviously, this skirt is made for dancing. But it's not so festive that you can't wear it to the office.

"This is my favorite black skirt. So flattering. So versatile. So me! A nice change." – satisfied customer Jo Ann

  • 30" Long
  • 6 Gore Panel Construction
  • Sizes 0X-3X
  • Finely ribbed stretch knit - 94% Acetate/6% Spandex
  • Machine wash, lay flat to dry
  • Great for travel – just hang it up and any wrinkles fall out.
  • Made in the USA
  •

Our signature fabric moves beautifully as you go about your day.

The finely ribbed stretch knit skims over your body without clinging or pulling.

The material is silky soft, yet it won't lose its good looks in the laundry.

Remember that not every style is designed with your body shape in mind. For example if you're pear-shaped, a dress with straight sides will either be too tight across your hips or too loose across the bust. In that case, A-Line shaped styles will fit your more comfortably.

If you're unsure which size to order, please contact us and we can advise you. Brands that aren't Vikki Vi follow a different size chart (available on the product page), and we're happy to pop into the warehouse and measure a garment for you if necessary.

    How to Measure Your Body

Relax and remind yourself that your measurements are neutral bits of information. We know that this can be an emotional experience, but it doesn't have to be. You're just gathering data.

Waist - Let's start with this one because it's easiest. Wrap the measuring tape around your waist and come on, baby do the twist. That twisting motion moves the measuring tape to your natural waist.

Bust - Wiggle the measuring tape up so that the back is a few inches above your bra band. You want to measure the largest part of your bust and since you want the measuring tape to be parallel to the floor, wiggle it around until it is.

Hips - You need to measure the biggest part of your hips - the hard part is figuring out where that is. Every booty is unique, so you may need to measure several spots to find the biggest one. It's probably lower down than you expect.

Inseam - You may find it easiest to measure a favorite pair of pants to find your inseam measurement. Lay the pants on a flat surface and measure from the crotch to the ankle.

    Fabric/Care

Vikki Vi Black Classics are made in the USA from the highest quality acetate/spandex fabric available. Weighing nearly 1 pound per yard, our classic fabric drapes beautifully and lasts a lifetime. Our black fabric is made from a yarn-dye process which ensures your blacks match from season to season.

Machine wash these beautiful styles in cold water. You can tumble with no heat to rid the garments of excess water if desired and then lay flat to dry completely. Acetate/lycra fabric will tend to stretch over time, take care in hanging or store folded.

    Figure flattering

I absolutely love this skirt. I am 5’1” and the skirt is the perfect length for me. All the maxi skirts are way too long and they don’t really look right when shortened. I looked online in the spring collection and was very disappointed that you don’t have this midi length in no other colors. Any chance that you will design more midis for us short people?

    Hi Esther,

Thanks so much for taking the time to leave a review. Keep an eye out for more midi skirts - they'll be back. Other customers haven't had a problem with having things shortened - the key is making sure you take it to a tailor who knows how to work with 'slinky'. Enjoy!
