Plus Size Pieces That Mix and Match Easily
Vikki Vi Classics mix and match very easily. They’re available in a variety of colors and prints, and the styles don’t go out of fashion. Now that we have the short answer taken care of, let’s dig into why this is so.
The Challenges of Mixing and Matching
If you’re like me, you have a couple of pieces in your wardrobe that you don’t wear because they don’t go with anything else you own. Maybe it’s a matter of color, like the teal skirt I bought even though it only went with one top I owned. Or it could be clashing necklines - I have a fabulous wrap jacket that doesn’t quite look right with my usual v neck tees, or even with most of my scoop neck tops. I have exactly one tee that definitely looks good with that jacket. Or there could be a clash of shapes - when the bottom of that top doesn’t work with the waistline of those pants.
The problem is that those pieces weren’t designed with mixing and matching in mind. And that’s where Vikki Vi Classics are different.
Classic Styles Play Nicely With Each Other
That’s because they’re unfussy, with clean lines. It also helps that when we bring in a new print, it goes with at least one of the solid colors we have in stock (besides black which goes with just about everything). Being a small company makes it easy for us to be very intentional when deciding what to offer.
At the most basic level, you can get a couple of styles in a couple of colors/prints and mix and match your way to loads of outfits. Let’s say you have 3 pairs of Pull On Pants, 3 Sleeveless Shells, and 3 Kimono Jackets. Assuming all the colors go well together, you can create…[quick break to do the math]...27 different outfits.
But those Pull On Pants (for example) go well with more than just the shell/jacket combo. You can wear them with Short Sleeve Tunics, 3/4 Sleeve Tops, and Swing Tops. This is where mixing and matching becomes exciting. Let’s say that you’re not a jacket person, so you have 3 pairs of Pull On Pants, and 3 Short Sleeve Tunics and 3 3/4 Sleeve Tops. That will get you 18 outfits.
Treat yourself to an artwear tunic or a silk print jacket and you can mix and match even more.
Start Slow and Build From There
Mixing and matching can turn 9 garments into 27 outfits, but unless you do laundry frequently those 9 pieces won’t get you through a week. Since Vikki Vi Classic styles remain the same, you can add to your collection and your new clothes will mix and match with what you already have. The fabrics we use hold up wonderfully over time (as long as you don’t put them in the dryer or hang them up), so your new black jacket will go with the black pants you bought a few years ago.
